Our mission: Hunger is real, we help.
The image at left was extracted from the 2021 Household Food Insecurity in Canada report. Our operations have always been structured to reflect the realities confirmed by this important report. Our vision and values are detailed in our strategic plan.
Food insecurity in Pembroke has grown to the point where our 1980’s era infrastructure, cannot keep up with the expanded need for warehousing and refrigeration space. The Food Bank needs help to fund the capital costs of expansion.
DONATIONS
The St. Joseph's Community Food Bank in Pembroke is a registered charity opened in 1986. We are a non-denominational, non-profit, non-political charity. We do not receive government funding. All food and monies are donated by local individuals, businesses and organizations.
The Food Bank relies on fundraising events, donations of money, food and gifts-in-kind from our generous community members and organizations. We are extremely grateful for your generosity. For information on how to donate, please go to our Donations page.
