DONATIONS
The St. Joseph's Community Food Bank in Pembroke is a registered charity opened in 1986. We are a non-denominational, non-profit, non-political charity. We do not receive government funding. All food and monies are donated by local individuals, businesses and organizations.
The Food Bank relies on fundraising events, donations of money, food and gifts-in-kind from our generous community members and organizations. We are extremely grateful for your generosity. For information on how to donate, please go to our Donations page.
national volunteer week
Canada's National Volunteer Week starts on April 27 and ends May 3, 2025. We are continually grateful to our volunteer workforce of over 55 volunteers. Year after year for the past 40 years, they have donated their time and effort to help make Pembroke a more caring and healthy environment for everybody. Thank you, volunteers, for all you do to provide our 1800 needy clients with the food they need to support themselves and their families.

- Between 2007 and 2019 - 50,000 meals provided annually on average

closure on federal election day - April 28
The Food Bank operates out of the Holy Name Annex which has been chosen by Elections Canada for a polling station. As a result, we will be closed on April 28, 2025. We will shift our operations to the following day and we will re-open on Tuesday April 29th at 9 a.m.
